Bailee", said new section to be known as Section 5A and to
follow immediately after Section 5 of said Article, making it
unlawful for any bailee, his or its servant, agent, or em-
ployee, wilfully to appropriate and use, or to permit anyone
to appropriate and use, the property, which is the subject
matter of the Bailment, without the consent of the owner.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 27
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"Crimes and Punishments", to be under sub-title "Appropriat-
ing Property by Bailee", said new section to be known as
Section 5A, to follow immediately after Section 5 of said
Article, and to read as follows:
APPROPRIATING PROPERTY BY BAILEE.
5A. If any bailee for hire, his or its servant, agent, or em-
ployee, shall wilfully appropriate and use, or permit anyone
to appropriate and use, the property, or any part thereof,
which is the subject matter of the Bailment, without the con-
sent of the owner or owners of such property, he shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof,
shall be punished by a fine of not more than One Hundred
Dollars ($100. 00), or by imprisonment for not more than six
months, or by both such fine and imprisonment, in the dis-
cretion of the Court.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1943.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments", to be under sub-title "Personating Officers", said new
section to be known as Section 531A and to follow imme-
diately after Section 531 of said Article, making it unlawful
to personate a police officer of the State of Maryland, of
Baltimore City or of any county or municipal corporation
of the State, or of a sheriff, deputy sheriff or constable, or to
wear or display, without the authority of the Superintendent
of State Police, Police Commissioner or Chief of Police of
