paid additional salaries to said teachers, over and above the
regular State minimum salaries payable during said period,
equal to or in excess of f 140 per teacher, then the State will
reimburse such County or Baltimore City to the extent of f 27
per teacher, out of any funds appropriated in the budget for
said purpose.

i SEC, 1A. And be it further enacted, That employees of the
Unemployment Compensation Board, who receive no compen-
sation from State funds other than that derived from Federal
sources, shall be paid the same additional compensation as if
they were State employees and their compensation were paid
from State funds, provided that the Federal Government con-
sents to the payment of such additional compensation from
Federal funds or from State funds derived from Federal
sources.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if any employee
Covered by the provisions of this Act has not been employed
for at least one year prior to July 1, 1943, he shall receive one-
twelfth of said payment for each month of his employment;
provided, however, that this section shall not apply to any
teacher covered by this Act.

SEC. 2A. And be it further enacted. That the regular em-
ployees in the offices of the Registers of Wills and Clerks of
the Courts throughout the State shall be considered as State
employees for the purposes of this Act and shall be entitled to
the additional payments provided for such employees by this
Act according to the terms and conditions herein provided for
other State employees and such employees shall receive said
additional payments herein provided for on July 1, 1943 and
August 1, 1943, such payments to be made from funds appro-
priated therefor in the Budget.

SEC. 2B. And be it further enacted, That the additional
payments provided for by this Act shall not be paid to any
employees who receive maintenance as part of their compensa-
tion; provided, however, that this section shall not apply to
any police employee of the Department of State Police.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the additional pay-
ments provided for the foregoing employees under the Act
shall not be liable for any contributions to any retirement
system.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect 011 June<l, 1943.
