to pay the Mayor and Council of Crisfield and the Presi-
dent and Commissioners of Princess Anne a certain sum
or sums of money from the fund allocated to Somerset
County by the State Roads Commission out of the "One
and One-half Cent Lateral Road Gasoline Tax Fund, "

CHAPTER 732.
(Senate Bill 456)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
335* of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Baltimore County", sub-title "Health and
Sanitation" (Metropolitan District), as the same was
repealed and re-enacted by Chapter 463 of the Acts of
1939, relating to the status of Metropolitan District
assessments and charges, providing for the collection of
all Metropolitan District assessments and charges,
whether heretofore accrued or hereafter accruing, as
State and County taxes are collected, and eliminating
the exception as to enforcing or collecting Metropolitan
District assessments and charges on certain properties
only by a bill in equity or suit at law and making same
additional remedies; defining the lien status and priority
of Metropolitan District assessments and charges here-
tofore accrued or hereafter accruing, and, in general
making certain clarifying changes in and provisions for
collection and enforceability of Metropolitan District
assessments and charges.
WHEREAS, Chapter 539 of the Acts of 1924, creating the
Baltimore County Metropolitan. District was expressly*in-
tended for the advancement, preservation and care of the
health, life and welfare of the citizens of Baltimore County
residing within the territorial limits of said Metropolitan
District; and,
WHEREAS, the benefits conferred upon property and
property owners by the actions of the County Commis-
sioners of Baltimore County under the authority of Chap-
ter 539 of the Acts of 1924 and amendments thereto, have
greatly enhanced and enlarged the value of the property
of said persons to an extent which is found to be greater
both from a financial and health standpoint* than the total
amount of said assessments and charges; and,
