of this Act. The Mayor and City Council of Baltimore is
hereby authorized to use any funds appropriated for ex-
tending, enlarging, developing or improving the municipal
water supply or water system of Baltimore City to exer-
cise the powers granted by this Act.
SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 538.
(Senate Bill 426)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City Char-
ter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Spe-
cial Fund", said new section to be known as Section 951A
and to follow immediately after Section 951 of said Arti-
cle, to include the Traffic Engineer of the Police Depart-
ment within the provisions of the laws relating to the
Special Fund for members of the Police Department.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland and
Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore
City", sub-title "Special Fund", said new section to be
known as Section 951 A, to follow immediately after Section
951 of said Article, and to read as follows:
951A. The said Police Commissioner is hereby author-
ized, empowered and directed to include the Traffic En-
gineer of the Police Department within the provisions of
Section 946 of this Article, so that he may enjoy the same
rights and privileges and benefits, subject to the same lim-
itations and conditions, as are therein prescribed and con-
ferred for the retiring of the members of the police force
for the said City of Baltimore; provided, however, that the
Traffic Engineer shall first pay into the Special Fund the
regular percentage required by Section 940 from the time
of his appointment, with interest, in addition to said reg-
ular percentage.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.
