mittee", and to enact in lieu thereof six new sections
to be known as Sections 32 to 36A, inclusive, of said
Article, changing certain dates as to the appointment
and reports of the Auditing Committee and providing
for the auditing of the accounts of the Sheriff.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 32 to 36, inclusive, of Article 15
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Kent County", sub-title 'Auditing Commit-
tee' be and they are hereby repealed; and that six new
sections be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof,
said new sections to be known as Sections 32 to 36A, in-
clusive, to follow immediately after Section 31 of said
Article, and to read as follows:

32. It shall be the duty of the Judges of the Circuit
Court for Kent County, annually, at the October term of
said Court, to appoint from among representative tax-
payers of said County, and without the least reference to
their political opinion, and known for their honesty, sound
judgment and integrity, three persons, who shall constitute
an auditing committee, whose duty it shall be to examine
carefully the accounts, vouchers, books and papers of the
Board of County Commissioners of Kent County, the
Treasurer of Kent County, the Board of School Commis-
sioners and Treasurer thereof of Kent County, the Trus-
tees of the Poor of Kent County and the Sheriff of Kent
County for the year beginning January 1, 1942, and end-
ing December 31, 1942, and annually thereafter.

33. It shall be the duty of the three persons, so ap-
pointed, as aforesaid, within thirty days after their ap-
pointment, to take and subscribe before the Clerk of the
Circuit Court of Kent County, an oath to well and faith-
fully discharge the duties of a member of the said Audit-
ing Committee without fear, favor or partially; and if any
person appointed, as aforesaid, shall for any cause fail
to qualify, or qualifying, shall refuse or fail to act as a
member of the said Auditing Committee, then the re-
maining member or members are hereby authorized and
empowered to fill said vacancy or vacancies and proceed
to the discharge of the duties of said Committee as here-
inbefore set forth.

34. It shall be the duty of the said Auditing Com-
mittee on the second Monday in January, next ensuing
their appointment, to proceed to carefully examine the
accounts, vouchers, receipts and other papers connected
