County, Howard County, St. Mary's County, Anne Arundel
County and Harford County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 524.

(Senate Bill 375)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 64A of the Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland, entitled "Merit
System", the said new section to follow immediately
after Section I of said Article, to be known as Section
1A, providing that certain employees of the penal in-
stitutions of the State shall be in the Classified Service.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and the same is hereby
added to Article 64A of the Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland, entitled "Merit System", the said new section
to follow immediately after Section 1 of said Article, to
be known as Section 1A and to read as follows:

1A. All employees of the Maryland Penitentiary, the
Maryland House of Correction, the Maryland State Penal
Farm and the Women's Prison, except the Wardens,.
Superintendents, Deputy Wardens and Assistant Super-
intendents, the consulting physicians and chaplains shall
be included in the Classified Service and subject to all of
the provisions of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1st, 1941.

CHAPTER 525.
(Senate Bill 376)

AN ACT to create a Commission to study and investigate the
entire subject of delinquent and dependent children and to
define its powers and duties.
