CHAPTER 520.
(Senate Bill 353)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
168 of Article 48 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Inspections", sub-title "Poultry",
exempting certain motor vehicles from the provisions of
said section.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 168 of Article 48 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Inspections", sub-
title "Poultry", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:
168. The Maryland State Board of Agriculture shall
have the power to supervise the sale and transportation of
poultry, as hereinafter provided. No person, other than a
producer or a retailer of dressed poultry, shall engage in
the business of buying or selling poultry or deal in poultry
on a commission basis or as a broker or in any other man-
ner, unless he has a license therefor from the State Board
of Agriculture. Each vehicle, except railroads, express
cars and motor vehicles being operated under a permit
or license issued by the Public Service Commission of
Maryland or by the Interstate Commerce Commission,
used by a licensee in transporting poultry shall bear two
metal plates suitably displayed, said plates to show owner's
license number and the licensee shall also affix or cause to
be affixed to each vehicle used in the business of transport-
ing poultry as aforesaid, a certified copy of such license in
which such vehicle shall be particularly described.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1941.

28 of Article 63 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Mechanics' Lien", to provide that
