CHAPTER 429.
(House Bill 49)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 21
of Article 99 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Water Fowl, Birds and Game", sub-title
"Upland and Migratory Game Birds and Game Animals
(seasons)", to provide open seasons on game birds and game
animals and prohibit sale of game.

SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 21 of Article 99 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Water Fowl, Birds and
Game", sub-title "Upland and Migratory Birds and Game
Animals", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

21. The open season for game birds and game animals shall
be as follows:

Kind of Game. Open Season.

Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs. August 16th to September 30th,

inclusive.

Rails and Reedbirds......... September 1st to January 31st,

inclusive.

Wild Water Fowl............ November 1st to January 31st,

inclusive.

Wilson Snipe or Jacksnipe... November 1st to January 31st,

inclusive.

Squirrel..................... September 15th to October 15,

inclusive; then closed October
16th to November 14th, inclu-
sive; then open November
15th to December 31st, In-
clusive, except in Washing-
ton and Allegany Counties,
the open season for hunting
of squirrels shall be Novem-
ber 1st to November 30th, in-
clusive; but on the Wood-
mont Road and Gun Club in
Washington County the open
season shall be from Novem-
ber 15 to December 31, in-
clusive; in Garrett County
the open season for hunting
of squirrels shall be October
