directed and required to serve all process in criminal cases
issued by the Trial Magistrates for said Somerset County and
no other police officer within the limits of Somerset County
shall hereafter render any bills to the County Commissioners
of said Somerset County for the service of criminal process or
criminal writs issued by the Trial Magistrates aforesaid.

395B. All fees and charges in criminal cases to which the
Sheriff may now be entitled by law shall hereafter be col-
lected for and paid to the County Commissioners for Somerset
County in the following manner: The Clerk of the Circuit
Court for said County shall in all criminal cases instituted or
pending in said Circuit Court collect all costs taxable in said
cases for the benefit of the said, Sheriff and pay over the same
to the County Commissioners, together with an itemized state-
ment thereof, quarterly, on January 1st, April 1st, July 1st
and October 1st in each and every year; and the Trial Magis-
trates for Somerset County shall in all criminal cases instituted
before said Magistrates collect the fees and costs taxable for
the benefit of the Sheriff and pay over the same to the County
Commissioners of said County at the end of each month,
together with an itemized statement thereof.

395C. At the time of rendering his monthly account for
expenses, the Sheriff shall make to the County Commissioners
of Somerset County, a full and detailed report of any and all
fees collected by him in the discharge of his official duties for
the preceding month, the said report to be under oath of the
Sheriff and to be accompanied by the Sheriff's check for the
amount thereof.

395D. (a) The Sheriff of Somerset County shall be allowed,
and the County Commissioners of said County shall be required
to pay, the sum of sixty cents ($. 60) per day for boarding and
keeping each prisoner committed to his custody, and it shall
be the duty of the Sheriff to keep a book at the County Jail in
which he shall keep a correct and full statement or schedule of
all prisoners committed to his custody showing by what author-
ity, the offense charged, the time when received and the time
of discharge, which statement or schedule, together with all
books, papers and commitments kept by him pertaining to
prisoners in the jail, shall at all times be open to the inspec-
tion of the County Commissioners, the State's Attorney and
the Grand Jury for said Somerset County, and should the
Sheriff neglect or refuse to keep said book or comply with any
of the duties which he is hereby required to perform, he shall
be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to indictment, and
upon conviction thereof he shall be fined a sum not exceeding
one hundred dollars ($100. 00).
