522. Any person convicted of violating any of the pro-
visions of Sections 509 to 521, both inclusive, of this sub-title,
except Sections 512 and 517, shall be sentenced to pay a fine
of not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100. 00), or to imprison-
ment in jail for not to exceed thirty (30) days, or both, at the
discretion of the court, for each such offense. Any person
-convicted of violating any of the provisions of Sections 512 or
517 of this sub-title shall, for the first offense, be sentenced to
pay a fine of not less than one hundred dollars ($100. 00) nor
more than one thousand dollars ($1, 000. 00) or to imprison-
ment in jail for not more than nine (9) months, and for each
subsequent such offense shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not
less than one thousand dollars ($1, 000. 00) or to imprisonment
in jail for not less than nine (9) months, or both, at the dis-
cretion of the court. If any person who is required, under
the provisions of Section 497 of this sub-title, to have a permit,
shall make a false statement in his application therefor, he
. shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall
be subject to pay a fine of one hundred dollars ($100. 00).
It shall be the duty of the State's Attorney of each and
every county of this State and the City of Baltimore, upon
. application by the University of Maryland, to prosecute in the
court having jurisdiction of the offense, all persons charged
with the violation of any of the provisions of Sections 509 to
521, both inclusive, of this sub-title, and where appropriate, to
institute proceedings in court to enjoin further such violations.
523. Any and all statutes of this State which in anywise
whatsoever are in conflict with any of the provisions of this
sub-title are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed
and superseded by this Act.
524. Should any section, paragraph, clause or sentence of
this sub-title be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any
reason, the remainder of the said sub-title shall not be thereby
. affected.
525. Nothing in this Act shall be construed to in anywise
interfere with any prosecution which may have been or may
hereafter be commenced for any violation of any of the sections
which are repealed by this Act where such violation occurred
prior to the effective date of this Act.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.
