of this Act shall not apply to Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Fred-
erick, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George's, Wash-
ington and Calvert Counties.

The following Counties shall leave the decision as to whether
or not this Act shall apply to the Board of County Commis-
sioners of the respective Counties by appropriate resolution:
Allegany, Carroll, Cecil, Dorchester, Garrett, Talbot, Wor-
cester and Wicomico, and said action by Board of County
Commissioners to be made by January 1, 1942.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 387.
(Senate Bill 43)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 716 and 716L of Article 4 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1938 Edition),
title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Judges of the People's
Court", as added by Chapter 137 of the Acts of 1939, and to
add two new sections to said Article and sub-title, said new
sections to be known as Sections 716L and 716LA to
follow immediately after Section 716K of said Article, re-
lating to the People's Court of Baltimore City.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 716 and 716L of Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1938 Edition), title "Balti-
more City", sub-title "Judges of the People's Court", as added
by Chapter 137 of the Acts of 1939, be and they are hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That two new sections
be and they are hereby added to said Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1938 Edition), title "Balti-
more City", sub-title "Judges of the People's Court", said new
sections to be known as Sections 716L and 716LA, to follow
immediately after Section 716K of said Article, and to read
as follows:

716L. Within ten days after the entry of any judgment in
the People's Court on any confessed judgment note, any Judge
may, in his discretion, strike out said judgment; within ten
days after the entry of any order or judgment in the People's
