compensation of said special policemen; their duties and
powers shall be the same as those of the regular policemen.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and haying
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.

CHAPTER 152.

(Souse Bill 346)

AN ACT to add three new sections to Article 23 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Wicomico County", sub-title "Salisbury — Water and
Sewers", prohibiting the pollution, defacement or destruc-
tion of any lake, dam or reservoir, line of conduit, water-
pipe, water-course or other work constructed or used for
supplying the City of Salisbury with water, said new sec-
tions to be known as Sections 336B, 336C and 336D of said
Article, and to follow immediately after Section 336A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That three new sections be, and they are hereby added
to Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Salis-
bury—Water and Sewers", said new sections to be known as
Sections 336B, 336C and 336D and to follow immediately after
Section 336A of said Article and to read as follows:

336B. If any person, firm or corporation shall wilfully
pollute or tend to pollute the water in any lake, dam or
reservoir, line of conduit, water-pipe, water-course or other
work constructed or used for supplying the City of Salisbury
with water, by swimming, bathing or washing therein, or by
washing or causing to be washed therein, or so near thereto as
to tend to pollute the water therein, any clothes, the skin of
any dead animal or any impure, fetid or noxious matter, or
shall throw or wash or cause to be thrown or washed therein,
or so near thereto as to tend to pollute the water therein, any
impure, fetid or noxious matter, the person, firm or corpora-
tion so offending shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
punishable as other misdemeanors are punishable by Section
337 of this sub-title.
