for the proper transaction of the business of the office, but the
compensation of such assistants shall not exceed the sum of
three hundred dollars ($300) in any one year. The salary of
the clerk and the compensation of the temporary assistants
shall be payable by the County Commissioners of Washing-
ton County.
The clerk of the Board of Supervisors of Elections of
Wicomico County shall receive an annual salary of three hun-
dred dollars ($300) payable on the order of the County Com-
missioners of Wicomico County in equal quarterly install-
ments, in full payment of services rendered the Board of
Supervisors of Elections of Wicomico County; provided, how-
ever, that in the event of special elections or special services
rendered, the Board of County Commissioners of Wicomico
County shall allow such additional compensation as may by
said County Commissioners be deemed commensurate with
such special services rendered.
In Calvert County, the Supervisors of Elections shall ap-
point a clerk who shall receive an annual salary of one hundred
and twenty-five dollars ($125. 00) per annum. The clerk so
appointed shall hold his office at the pleasure of said Super-
visors and shall be at his office at such time or times and per-
form such duties as said Supervisors shall prescribe.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

AN ACT to add five new sections to Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Charles County", to be under a new sub-title "Sewers",
said new sections to be known as Sections 242A to 242E,
inclusive, and to follow immediately after Section 242 of
said Article, relating to the construction of cesspools, septic
tanks, privies, or other sewage disposal plants in Charles
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That five new sections be and they are hereby added to
Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Charles County", to be under a new sub-title
"Sewers", said new sections to be known as Sections 242A to
