CHAPTER 144.
(Senate Bill 275)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 22 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Washington County", sub-title "Hagerstown", said new
section to be known as Section 227A and to follow im-
mediately after Section 227 of said Article, relating to
the acquisition of property for airport facilities or pur-
poses for certain public works.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Washington County", sub-title
"Hagerstown", said new section to be known as Section
227A, to follow immediately after Section 227 of said Arti-
cle and to read as follows:

227A. The provision of Section 227 of this Article shall
not limit, restrict or apply to the acquisition of real estate
by the Mayor and Council for airport facilities or purposes
under the provisions of Sections 35 to 44, inclusive, of
Article 1A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), or to the acquisition of real estate for the pur-
poses and in the manner prescribed in Sections 10 to 27,
inclusive, of Article 31 of said 'Code.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported
by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the
two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 37,
40, 42, 44, 46, 48, and 49 of Article 88A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "State Department
of Public Welfare", sub-title "Aid to Dependent Children".
