In Talbot and Carroll Counties, it shall be unlawful for
anyone to sell any alcoholic beverages on Sunday. Any person
selling such beverages in Talbot County on Sunday shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall
be fined not exceeding Fifty ($50. 00) Dollars for the first
offense and for each succeeding offense shall be fined not ex-
ceeding One Hundred ($100. 00) Dollars or imprisoned in the
County Jail for not more than thirty (30) days, or be both
fined and imprisoned, in the discretion of the Court.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and having
been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths
of all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date
of its passage.

(Senate Bill 50)
AN ACT to add five new sections to Article 33A of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Eminent
Domain", said new sections to be known as Sections 18A,
18B, 18C, 18D, 18E and 18F and to follow immediately after
Section 18 of said Article, to provide for certain changes
in procedure applicable only to the State Roads Commis-
sion in acquiring property by condemnation under said
Article, and allowing the assessment of benefits against
defendants in condemnation suits brought by the State
Roads Commission.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That five new sections be and the same are hereby added
to Article 33A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Eminent Domain", the said new sections to
«be known as Sections ISA, 18B, 180, 18D and 18E, and to
follow immediately after Section 18 and to read as follows:
ISA. Upon the filing of a petition of condemnation by the
State Roads Commission under this Article, the Court or any
Judge thereof shall pass an order directing a summons to
issue for the defendants, to be served in the same manner as
a summons in actions at law, and to be returned by some day
