the Board of County Commissioners of Frederick County and
at such compensation as may be fixed by the said Board of
County Commissioners.
(g) The Board of Supervisors of Elections of Wicomico
County shall receive an annual salary of three hundred dollars
(1300. 00), payable on the order of the County Commissioners
of Wicomico County in equal quarterly instalments, and they
shall not receive any other compensation, emolument, pay or
recompense of any kind whatsoever for their services, includ-
ing services rendered under Section 240 of this Article, pro-
vided, however, that in the event of special elections or special
services rendered the Board of County Commissioners of Wi-
comico County shall allow such additional compensation as
may by said County Commissioners be deemed commensurate
with such special services rendered.
172. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of Washington
County shall annually on the first day of June in each year
appoint some practicing member of the bar of Washington
County to act as general counsel for said board, and for the
officers of registration and judges of election, appointed by
them in all matters and proceedings pertaining to their duties
and to appear for and defend said Board of Supervisors, of-
ficers of registration and judges of election at the hearing
all petitions and suits which may be filed or brought for or
against them under the provisions of Article 33 of the Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Elections", or
involving their rights and duties thereunder. For his services
as such general counsel he shall receive an annual salary of
not more than two hundred dollars ($200. 00) which salary
shall be paid by said County Commissioners. The said gen-
eral counsel shall hold his office at the pleasure of the Board
of Supervisors of Elections of Washington County, and may
be removed by said board in their discretion at any time, and
upon such removal, the said Supervisors shall be authorized
to appoint other counsel. He shall not receive any other com-
pensation, emolument, pay, fee, appearance fee or recompense
of any kind whatsoever for his services as such general coun-
sel, and no attorney's fee shall be taxed as a part of the costs
in any case in which he appears as such general counsel.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.
