said county, there is a great need for a new edition of the
Local Laws of said county; therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Washington County
be and they are hereby authorized to appropriate and include
in their next levy after the passage of this Act, a sufficient
sum of money to pay for the compilation and publication of
a new edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of Washington
County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the County Commis-
sioners of Washington County be and they are hereby author-
ized to sell copies of said code at such price as, in their judg-
ment, seems proper. All monies received from the sale of said
code shall be paid into the general funds of the treasury of
Washington County.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 780.
(House Bill 444)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
229 and 235 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1939 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Primary Elec-
tions. "

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 229 and 235 of Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title
"Primary Elections'7, be and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, Avith amendments, so as to read as follows:

229. Political parties which at the general election held on
November 2nd, 1909, in the State of Maryland, or which at
any future general election next preceding any primary elec-
tion to be held hereunder, as shall have polled ten per cent,
of the entire vote cast in the State at such or any such general
election, shall hereafter nominate all their candidates for
public office in and for Baltimore City, and the several counties
of the State and for Judges and for the House of Representa-
