HERBERT R. O'CONOR, GOVERNOR. 1283

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
89B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title
"State Roads", said new section to be known as Section 14A?
and to follow immediately after Section 14 of said Article,
and to read as follows:

14A. The State Roads Commission of Maryland is hereby
empowered and directed to pay the Mayor and Town Council
of Midland, Maryland, from the funds allocated to Allegany
County by the State Roads Commission of Maryland from the
"One and One-half Cent Lateral County and Municipal Road
Gasoline Tax Fund" such sum or sums of money as to retire
each year bonds in the amount of One Thousand Dollars
($1000. 00), plus the interest on the unpaid bonds at the rate
of five per centum per annum until all of the outstanding
bonds in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5000. 00) are
paid, said bonds being the unpaid remainder of an issue of
Five Thousand Dollars ($5000. 00) and the funds used by the
Mayor and Town Council of Midland in the reconstruction of
that part of a post-road, known as Route No. 36 that is within
the corporate limits of the Town of Midland, and said bonds,
having been issued in accordance with the provisions of Chap-
ter 54 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of
1916, and having been renewed in 1931, in accordance with the
provisions of Chapter 38 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1931.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 735.

(House Bill 504)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
21 of Article 88B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "State Police", giving the State Police the
same powers to enforce certain laws in Howard County as
in other counties of the State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 21 of Article 88B of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "State Police", be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
