CHAPTER 727.
(House Bill 600)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 12
of Article 66A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), title "Moving Pictures", increasing the salary of
the Chairman of the Board of Censors.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 12 of Article 66A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Moving Pictures", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

12. The Board shall provide adequate offices and rooms in
which to properly conduct the work and affairs of the Board
in the City of Baltimore and the State of Maryland, and the
expenses thereof, as well as any other expenses incurred by said
Board in the necessary discharge of its duties, and also the
salaries of the members of the Board, which latter shall be two
thousand four hundred ($2, 400. 00) dollars per annum for each
member, except the Chairman who shall receive three thousand
dollars (13, 000. 00) per annum, shall be paid by the State in
the manner provided by law.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 728.
(House Bill 602)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 64A of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Merit System",
said new section to be known as Section 5A and to follow
immediately after Section 5 of said Article, to prohibit
the Commissioner from disqualifying certain persons from
holding positions or taking examinations in the Classified
Service on account of age or minor physical defect or im-
pairment, except in certain cases, and on condition that
such persons waive any right as to pensions under any State
retirement system and/or any disability benefits during or
on account of such employment.
