alleged offender for trial, or to hold him to bail to appeal for
trial in the court having criminal jurisdiction in the case, at
its then or next session, and to transmit said commitment or
recognizance, with the names and residences of the witnesses
for the prosecution endorsed thereon, forthwith to the Clerk of
such Court; arid the justice of the peace, before whom the ac-
cused is brought for trial, shall inform him seasonably of his
right to demand a trial by jury.

Provided further that nothing in these sections shall be
construed to change, enlarge or dimmish the jurisdiction of
Justices of the Peace in any of the Counties of the State or
the City of Baltimore who are herein specifically vested with
authority to hear, try and determine cases under Section 388
of this Article, but that only such Justices are vested with
authority herein as would have jurisdiction and authority to
hear, try and determine cases of violation of the law before
June 1, 1941.

Provided that nothing in this section shall be construed to
interfere with any prosecution that has or may hereafter be
commenced for any violation of this section hereby repealed
and re-enacted happening previous to the date this law becomes
effective.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 631.

(House Bill 489)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Tal-
bot County", sub-title uRoads", said new section to be
known as Section 411A and to follow immediately after
Section 411 of said Article, relating to certain county em-
ployees engaged in constructing or maintaining county roads
or bridges in Talbot County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Talbot County", sub-title "Roads", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 411A, to follow immediately after
Section 411 of said Article and to read as follows:
