CHAPTER 611.
(Senate Bill 532)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Crimes
and Punishments", sub-title "Sabbath Breaking", said
new section to be known as Section 574A and to follow
immediately after Section 574 of said Article/authoriz-
ing the operation of bowling alleys, tenpin alleys or
duckpin alleys in Kent County on Sunday.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edi-
tion), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title ''Sabbath
Breaking", said new section to be known as Section 574A,
to follow immediately after Section 574 of said Article,
and to read as follows:

574A. Nothing contained in Section 560 of this Arti-
cle, however, shall be construed as prohibiting, penalizing
or making unlawful the operation of any bowling alley,
tenpin alley or duckpin alley in Kent County on Sunday,
with or without a charge or fee, except that within the
corporate limits of Chestertown, no such alley shall be
operated before 2. 00 P. M. on Sunday.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

Approved May 2, 1941.

CHAPTER 612.

(House Bill 648)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 83
of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Public General Laws
of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace",
sub-title "Magistrates for Juvenile Causes", providing that
until a Magistrate for Juvenile Causes is appointed as such
in Prince George's County, the Justices of the Peace at
Large for Prince George's County, designated as Trial
Magistrates, shall have the jurisdiction and powers of Magis-
trates for Juvenile Causes and may act as such in Prince
George's County.

(Vetoed. )
