exceeding thirty days, as aforesaid, was occasioned by
sickness or other unavoidable cause.
738. The said station-house Justices are granted a leave
of absence, with pay, for thirty days during each and
every year; and the Governor is authorized to designate
one of the civil magistrates to act in their place during
said absence, who shall be paid the same as the station-
house Justices receive.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1941.

CHAPTER 602.
(Senate Bill 516)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 4 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland and Baltimore City
Charter (1938 Edition), title "Baltimore City", sub-title
"Special Fund", said new section to be known as Section
946A and to follow immediately after Section 946 of
said Article, to provide increased pensions for members
of the police force and certain other employees of the
Police Department on account of services in excess of
thirty years.

CHAPTER 603.
(Senate Bill 517)
AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commis-
sioners of Calvert County to borrow upon the faith and
credit of said County a sum not to exceed One Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($100, 000) and to issue coupon bonds
therefore for the acquisition of a site for and construc-
tion of a public high school building in Prince Fred-
erick, and providing for the levying of taxes necessary
for the payment of such bonds.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
