SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 1
and 2 of Chapter 76 of the Acts of 1922 (said sections having
been codified as Sections 164 and 165 of Article 1, Sections
149 and 150 of Article 11, and Sections 178 and 179 of
Article 22, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), and Section 2 having been amended by
Chapter 362 of the Acts of 1931), eliminating Washington
County from the provisions of said sections which relate to
notices of election and registration of voters in Washington,
Allegany and Frederick Counties.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 1 and 2 of Article 76 of the Acts of 1922,
(said sections having been codified as Sections 164 and 165 of
Article 1, Sections 149 and 150 of Article 11, and Sections 178
and 179 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, 1930 Edition, and Section 2 having been amended
by Chapter 362 of the Acts of 1931), be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
1. The Supervisors of Election of Allegany and Frederick
Counties shall give ten days' notice of the time and place of
registration, and of the revision thereof, and of the elections
in each precinct of said counties only by advertisement in two
newspapers (one of which newspapers, if possible, shall be of
the opposite political faith from that of the majority of said
Supervisors) of general circulation in any of said respective
counties, and they shall not be required to give notice by
posting handbills of said elections or registrations.
2. The said Supervisors of Election of Allegany and Fred-
erick Counties, shall not be required to give notice of persons
registered or erased in each precinct of said Counties by post-
ing handbills, but notice shall be given only by publishing
the names and addresses of such persons in two newspapers
(one of which newspapers, if possible, shall be of the opposite
political faith from that of a majority of said Supervisors)
within three days after the return of the list of voters reg-
