6. The Board of Public Works is authorized and em-
powered, in its discretion, to sell at public or private sale,
any shares of stock, debentures or certificates of beneficial
interest in any Banking Institution of this State, now or
hereafter held by the State Treasurer, but the proceeds
of any such sale shall be paid into the general Treasury of
the State, to be appropriated therefrom in the manner and
for the purposes prescribed in the Budget.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect on June 1, 1939.

AN ACT to repeal and reenact with amendments Section
884 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland and Baltimore City Charter (1938 Edition),
title "Baltimore City", subtitle "Police Commissioner",
classifying certain Radio Operators, Dispatchers and
Maintenance Men as sergeants and changing the qualifi-
cations required for the Chief Operator.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 89 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Statistics and In-
formation as to Branches of Industry", sub-title "Bureau of
Mines", title II—"Inspectors and Inspections", providing for
the appointment of an inspector of weights and mine scales,
said new section to be known as Section 31A, and to follow
immediately after Section 31 of said Article 89.
