the power to administer oaths and affirmations, and take af-
fidavits and make examinations as to any matter within the
jurisdiction of their respective offices, but said Chief Medical
Examiner, Assistant Medical Examiners and Deputy Medical
Examiners shall not have the power or be required to sum-
mon a Jury of Inquisition. Provided, however, that nothing in
in this Article shall apply to Cecil County nor shall any of its
provisions be enforced in said County.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That if any section or
paragraph of this Act shall be declared invalid, such invalid-
ity shall not affect the remaining sections or paragraphs of
said Act.
SEC. 6A. And be it further enacted, That the Board of
Estimates of Baltimore City may transfer the balance of any
appropriation made to the Coroners in the Ordinance of
Estimates for the year 1939 to the credit of the said Board of
Medical Examiners on June 1, 1939.
SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, That all laws or parts
of laws, whether Public General Laws or Public Local Laws,
inconsistent herewith, be and they are hereby repealed to the
extent of such inconsistency.
SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on June 1, 1939.

(Senate Bill 27)
AN ACT to repeal Section 315 of Article 27 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Crimes
and Punishments", sub-title "Insane Convicts".
WHEREAS, Section 315 of Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), is a duplicate of Section
711 of said Article; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section 315 of Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Crimes and Pun-
ishments", sub-title "Insane Convicts", be and it is hereby
repealed.
