SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1939.

CHAPTER 281.
(Senate Bill 397)
AN ACT to add an additional section to Article 4 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, entitled "City
of Baltimore", said additional section to follow imme-
diately after Section 9A of said Article 4 and to be
designated as Section 9B, relating to the operation of
vehicles propelled by electricity furnished by overhead
wires, but not operated upon rails.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new and additional section is hereby
added to Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, entitled "City of Baltimore", to follow imme-
diately after Section 9A of said Article 4, to be designated
as Section 9B of said Article 4, and to read as follows:
9B. The Mayor and City Council of Baltimore may, by
ordinance, permit any street railway company to operate
under its existing franchises vehicles propelled by elec-
tricity furnished by overhead wires but not operated upon
rails, and any such grant heretofore made is hereby ratified
and confirmed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from June 1, 1939.

AN ACT to add three new Sections to Article 22 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Washington County", sub-title "Court Stenogra-
pher", said new sections to be known as Sections 115A,
115B and 115C and to follow immediately after Section
115 of said Article, making it lawful for the Court
