be secured by a bonding or surety company, the premium on
said bond to be paid by the said County Commissioners and
to be approved by the said Commissioners.

343A. The County Treasurer of Somerset County or the
Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners is empowered to
administer an oath or affirmation to any account to any per-
son presenting a claim against Somerset County, without
charge for the oath or affirmation so administered.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 255.
(House Bill 378)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Mont-
gomery County", sub-title "Bethesda", said new section to
be known as Section 41A and to follow immediately after
Section 41 of said Article, authorizing the County Commis-
sioners to levy tax for the construction, maintenance and
operation of a library to be known as the Bethesda Public
Library Association, Inc., or its legal successor, in the
Bethesda Fire Department special tax area of the Seventh
Election District as defined in Chapter 237 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of Maryland of 1931 and amendments
thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Montgomery County", sub-title "Bethesda", said
new section to be known as Section 41A to follow immediately
after Section 41 of said Article, and to read as follows:

41A. That for the purpose of providing funds with which
to establish, maintain and operate a public library within the
area in Bethesda District in said Montgomery County, now
constituting the Bethesda Fire Department area as defined in
