appropriate jurisdiction.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1939.

(Senate Bill 177)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 13 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title, "Harford
County, " sub-title, "County Commissioners, " to be known
as Section 234A; providing for a Board of Assessment
for said County, consisting of two members, one of whom
to be the Supervisor of Assessments appointed by the
State Tax Commission and the other to be selected by
the County Commissioners of Harford County; provid-
ing for an additional member of said Board when the
assessment is reviewed in each election District; provid-
ing for the qualifications, duties and compensation of the
members of said Board; providing for the procedure in
the reassessment of property; providing for notice of all
changes in assessments; providing for the payment of
salaries and other expenses of assessment and reassess-
ment of real and personal property, and providing pen-
alties for the violation of certain provisions of this Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be added to Article 13 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title, "Har-
for County, " sub-title, "County Commissioners, " to be
known as Section 234A, to follow Section 234 of said
Article, and to read as follows:
234A. The Board of County Commissioners of Harford
County is hereby authorized and empowered, after this
Act becomes effective, to appoint a reputable taxpayer and
resident of Harford County, who has had experience in
the assessment of real and personal property in said
County, and who is familiar with the values of both types
of property throughout said County, who, with the Super-
visor of Assessments of said County, shall be and consti-
tute the Board of Assessment of Harford County.
