SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of
all the members of the two Houses of the General Assembly,
the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 158.
(House Bill 320)

AN ACT to authorize the Board of County Commissioners of
Montgomery County to issue refunding bonds of the County
for the purpose of refunding outstanding bonds of the
County maturing between June 30, 1939 and June 30, 1941,
and to provide for the payment of such refunding bonds and
interest thereon by the levy of taxes upon all taxable prop-
erty in the county; to validate such outstanding bonds; and
to provide that this Act shall be passed as an emergency
measure.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That the Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery
County be and the said Board is hereby authorized and em-
powered to issue at one time or from time to time refunding
bonds of said County in an amount not exceeding $953, 000 for
the purpose of refunding a like amount of outstanding bonds
of the County maturing between June 30, 1939, and June 30,
1941, and described as follows:

1. $4, 000 Public School Bonds, dated July 1, 1922, issued
under Chapter 255 of the Acts of 1922, and maturing $2, 000
on July 1, 1939, and $2, 000 on July 1, 1940.

2. $4, 000 Road Repair Bonds, dated July 1, 1922, issued
under Chapter 261 of the Acts of 1922, and maturing $2, 000
on July 1, 1939, and $2, 000 on July 1, 1940.

3. $4, 000 Lateral Road Bonds, 3rd Issue, dated July 1,
1922, issued under Chapter 203 of the Acts of 1922, and ma-
turing $2, 000 on July 1, 1939, and $2, 000 on July 1, 1940.

4. $2, 000 Potomac Road Bonds, dated July 1, 1922, issued
under Chapter 404 of the Acts of 1922, and maturing $1, 000
on July 1, 1939 and $1, 000 on July 1, 1940.
