acquired since the last assessment; he shall value said property
at its cash value, and return the same to the Mayor and Coun-
cil at the time and in the manner to be prescribed by them;
and the same shall be assessed to the proper parties and taxed
to them thereafter, and the taxes collected as other taxes are
collected; he shall perform such other duties, and shall re-
ceive such compensation for his services from the funds of the
corporation, as said Mayor and Council may prescribe or fix
by order or ordinance and he shall give bond for the faithful
performance of his duties as such clerk, treasurer and collector,
with security to be approved by the Mayor and Council in
such penal sum as shall be prescribed by ordinance, which
bond shall be made to the said corporation, and carefully filed
among its papers, and recorded in the minutes of its pro-
ceedings.

82. The Mayor, by and with the advice and consent of the
Council, shall annually, at their first meeting after their elec-
tion and qualification, or as soon thereafter as may be, appoint
a bailiff for said town from among their qualified voters there-
of; before said bailiff shall enter upon the discharge of the
duties of his office, he shall file with the town clerk a bond for
the faithful discharge of his duties as a bailiff, with security
to be approved by the Mayor, in such penal sum as shall be
prescribed by ordinance of said corporation; and within the
corporate limits of said town, said bailiff shall have all the
powers and authority of a constable; and in the performance
of his duties as bailiff, the said bailiff shall receive such com-
pensation for his services from the funds of the corporation
as said Mayor and Council may prescribe or fix by order or
ordinance.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect on the first day of June, 1939.

AN ACT to repeal Section 584A of Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Montgomery County", sub-title "Loans", as the same was
enacted by Chapter 514 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland at its Regular Session of 1937, pertaining to
referenda on bonds upon credit of Montgomery County.
