pensation, emolument, pay or recompense of any kind what-
soever for their services including services rendered under
Section 202 of this Article. The Board of Supervisors of Elec-
tions of Montgomery County shall receive an annual salary
of six hundred dollars ($600. 00) payable on the order of the
County Commissioners of Montgomery County in equal
monthly instalments and they shall not receive any other
compensation, emolument, pay or recompense of any kind
whatsoever for their services, including services rendered
under Section 202 of this Article. The Board of Supervisors
of Elections of Montgomery County may employ any mem-
ber of the Bar of the Court of Appeals of the State of Mary-
land, resident in Montgomery County who shall be paid for his
services the sum of six hundred dollars ($600. 00) per annum,
payable in equal monthly instalments and no other fees or
compensation whatsoever, and may also employ and appoint a
clerk, who shall be paid such salary as may be fixed by the
Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery County, but
said Board of Supervisors of Elections shall employ no other
assistants or clerks of any kind whatsoever, except with the
approval of the Board of County Commissioners of Mont-
gomery County and at such compensation as may be fixed by
the said Board of County Commissioners.
126. The sheriffs in the several counties shall, respec-
tively, be allowed the sum of twelve dollars ($12. 00) for each
election held in their county for the performance of the duties
therein required, to be levied as other county charges; pro-
vided, that when two or more elections are to be held the same
day the sheriff shall not be allowed more than twelve dollars
for such election (except in Baltimore City); all judges,
whether acting as or sitting as officers of registration, and
clerks of election, shall be allowed and paid three dollars
per day; fractions of a day shall be allowed for at the rate of
thirty cents an hour. In the City of Baltimore, in the year
1907, and thereafter, the judges when acting as officers of
registration shall be allowed and paid eight dollars a day,
and all judges and clerks when sitting as officers of election
shall be allowed and paid ten dollars for each election con-
ducted by them; each judge and each clerk of election who
has performed all the duties and services required of him by this
Article shall be allowed pay for his time as above provided.
When any judge or clerk does not perform all the services
required by this Article, then such board of supervisors of elec-
tions shall audit his time and allow him compensation only
for the time during which he has actually served. Provided,
that in St. Mary's County judges and clerks of election shall
be paid an additional fifty cents each per hour for every hour
