County, and in Howard County, in such manner that each set
of books shall contain approximately the same number of
names of voters thereon and toward that end may adopt any
division of the first letters of the surnames of such voters
which the said Boards of Supervisors of Elections of Mont-
gomery County, Anne Arundel County, and of Howard County
may deem necessary. Provided further, that the Board of
Supervisors of Elections of Howard County in exercising its
discretion to divide the list of voters as herein authorized may,
to afford greater accommodation to the voters, permit the
partitioning of the room or rooms of a polling place, according
to alphabetical divisions of voters, and if said Board finds a
polling place inadequate to accommodate the voters, according
to alphabetical divisions, then, for greater accommodation to
the voters, said Board may authorize the establishment of
additional polling places within the particular district or
precinct of a district, such additional polling place or places,
however, not to be more than three hundred feet apart or
distant from one another.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 12.
(House Bill 75)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 58
of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County", sub-title "Cam-
bridge", sub-heading "Mayor", providing that the Mayor
shall publish an itemized statement of the expenditures of
the town at stated intervals.

SECTION 1. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 58 of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Dorchester County7',
sub-title "Cambridge", sub-heading "Mayor", be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

58. The Mayor-elect shall, without delay, appear before the
Clerk of the Circuit Court and make the declaration and take
the oath prescribed by the Constitution, and procuring from
