extent of the inconsistency of said Section with this Act in
regard to the disposition of fines for the violation of the Motor
Vehicle Laws of Maryland; and that Section 204 of said Ar-
ticle of the Code, title "Licenses", sub-title "Enforcement of
Motor Vehicle Laws—Arrest, Bail, Trial and Appeal", be and
it is hereby repealed insofar as said Section may be incon-
sistent with this Act in regard to jurisdiction and procedure
in cases of violations of said Motor Vehicle Laws; and that
all Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of
this Act are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsist-
ency.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 721.
(House Bill 455)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 257, 261 and 298 of Article 2 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Anne Arundel County", and to repeal and re-enact,
with amendments, Section 4 of Chapter 169 of the Acts of
1933 (General Session), relating to. the appointment of
chauffeurs of the Volunteer Fire Companies of Anne Arun-
del County and their salaries.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 257, 261 and 298 of Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Anne
Arundel County", be and they are hereby repealed, and to re-
peal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 4 of Chapter 169
of the Acts of 1933 (General Session), so as to read as fol-
lows:

4. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
shall appoint and dismiss, upon the recommendation of the
several Volunteer Fire Companies, one or two chauffeurs for
each of said Companies, the number to be at the option of each
Company. Before receiving a regular appointment, an ap-
pointee shall serve as a chauffeur for six months under a pro-
bation appointment at a salary of One Hundred Dollars
($100. 00) per month, payable monthly. The County Commis-
sioners are hereby authorised and directed to pay the salaries
of the chauffeurs of the several Volunteer Fire Companies
