shall be fully audited by a certified public accountant to be
employed and paid by said Commission.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

(House Bill 630)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 378
of Article 20 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Somerset County", sub-title "Roads", relating
to the appointment, compensation, powers and duties of
the County Road Superintendent.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 378 of Article 20 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset County", sub-title
"Roads", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:

378. The Chairman of the State Roads Commission shall on
or before the first day in July, in each and every year, begin-
ning first day of July, 1939, appoint some competent person,
who shall have sufficient knowledge and experience, in the esti-
mation and judgment of the Chairman of the State Roads Com-
mission to enable him to discharge properly the duties of
grading, draining, maintaining, repairing and reconstructing
the public roads and bridges of said County, County Road
Superintendent for Somerset County at a salary not to exceed
two thousand dollars ($2, 000. 00) a year, payable monthly,
and the said County Road Superintendent shall hold his office
and be paid for his services from the second Tuesday in De-
cember next succeeding his appointment for one year, unless
sooner removed, as hereinafter provided.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.
