General Assembly the same shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 87.
(House Bill 200)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 15 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Kent
County", sub-title "Chestertown", said new section to be
known as Section 122A and to follow immediately after
Section 122 of said Article, authorizing the Town of Ches-
tertown to maintain and operate a sewage system and to
make a charge for the use thereof and making said charges
a lien on the properties connected therewith.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edi-
tion), title "Kent County", sub-title "Chestertown", said new
section to be known as Section 122A and to follow imme-
diately after Section 122 of said Article, to read as follows:

122A. The Mayor and Council of Chestertown shall have
the right to operate the sewage system with authority to
employ and pay such engineers, workmen, laborers and em-
ployees as may be necessary to carry on and maintain the
same and to supply said Town and the inhabitants there with
a proper sewage system and shall have authority to purchase
material and supplies and to make repairs and additions
thereto as necessity may require and to fix, charge and collect
sewage rates or sewage rents for use of said sewer and to
make said sewage rent and/or rates and/or charges a lien
on the properties connected with said sewer and to adopt
and provide rules and regulations therefor.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.
