Commissioners shall be Five Hundred Dollars per annum, pay-
able monthly. The Commission, at its first meeting after the
effective date of this Act, or as soon thereafter as may be con-
venient, shall by a majority vote appoint a General Counsel to
the Commission at an annual salary of Twenty-four Hundred
Dollars payable monthly, and a Secretary-Treasurer, who shall
be a bonded official at an annual salary of Two Thousand Dol-
lars, payable monthly. The Commission shall likewise by ma-
jority vote elect one of the members of the Commission, who
is a resident of Montgomery County, as Park Commissioner
for the Parks located in Montgomery County, and said Com-
missioner so elected shall represent the Commission in the
construction and maintenance of parks and roadways and
any other operation which the Commission may undertake.
For such services the said Park Commissioner shall be paid
the salary of Thirty-six Hundred Dollars per year, payable
monthly, and said salary shall be in addition to the salary
received by said Park Commission as Commissioner. Said
Park Commissioner shall be furnished transportation, and the
additional salary of $3, 600, as well as the transportation
costs for said Park Commissioner, shall be paid out of the
proceeds of the seven cent park tax of Montgomery County.
The Commission may appoint, discharge at pleasure, and fix
the compensation of or may contract for the services of such
engineering, planning, administrative, auditing, clerical or
other force, as, from time to time in its judgment, may be
necessary to the administration of this Act, and may require
any employee to give bond with surety approved by, and in the
sum to be fixed by the Commission.
The members of the Commission who are in office on the
effective date of this Act shall hold office until their successors
shall have been appointed and qualified. The Governor may
remove any member of the Commission appointed under the
provisions of this Act, upon conviction of malfeasance or mis-
feasance in office. Upon the removal of any member of the
Commission as herein provided, the vacancy thus occurring
shall be filled by the Governor for the remainder of the term,
subject to confirmation by the Board of County Commissioners
of the County in which the appointee shall be a resident.
6. (590) (725) That in the acquisition and development of
land or other property or the exercise of its duties under this
Act; and/or for the purpose of complying with the provi-
sions of Paragraphs or Sub-sections (a) and (b) of Section 1
and/or securing the funds authorized to be appropriated by
said Sub-sections (a) and (b) of Section 1 of an Act of the
Congress of the United States known as Public Act 284,
71st Congress, entitled "An Act for the acquisition, estab-
