CHAPTER 657.
(House Bill 822)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 25,
26, 34 and 37 of Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince George's County",
sub-title "Berwyn Heights", amending the charter of Berwyn
Heights relating to elections in said town and conferring
additional powers upon the Commissioners of said town.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 25, 26, 34 and 37 of Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Berwyn Heights", be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

25. (a) All citizens of the said town of Berwyn Heights
above the age of twenty-one (21) years who shall have resided
within the corporate limits thereof continuously for six months
next preceding any election; who shall be a qualified voter in
Prince George's County, registered in the precinct in which the
said town is situated, and who is registered in the Town Reg-
ister in accordance with the provisions of sub-section (b) of
this section shall be qualified to vote for candidates for all elec-
tive offices of the said town and the judges of election shall be
the sole judges of the qualifications and right of any person to
vote in any election.

(b) Upon the coming into force of this Act the Commission-
ers shall provide a book properly ruled and captioned to be
known and hereinafter referred to as the "Town Register", in
which shall be entered the name, address, color, sex, date of
birth, and any other data deemed by the Commissioners to be
appropriate and desirable in respect of every person applying
for registration in the Town Register who is eligible or who
will be eligible under the terms of sub-section (a) of this sec-
tion to vote in town elections on the day of the next election
following the date of filing his application. The first Monday,
Tuesday and Wednesday of April of each election year, be-
tween the hours of 7 P. M. and 10 P. M., are hereby designated
as registration dates. Applications for registration in the
Town Register shall be accepted by the Town Clerk on the days
and between the hours above specified and at no other time.
Such application shall be in writing, under oath or affirmation,
and shall be in such form as the Commissioners shall prescribe.
The Town Clerk is hereby vested with authority to administer
the required oath or affirmation in respect of any application
for registration in the Town Register and such oath or affirma-
