1136 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 562
CHAPTER 562.

(House Bill 880)

AN ACT to repeal Section 7 of Article 33 of the Annotated
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Elections",
sub-title "Supervisors of Elections", as re-enacted with
amendments by Chapter 95 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland for the year 1937, and to re-enact said
section with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 7 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Elections", sub-title
"Supervisors of Elections", as said Section was re-enacted with
amendments by Chapter 95 of the Acts of the General As-
sembly of Maryland for the year 1937, be and said Section is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read
as follows:

7. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of the several
counties may have clerks, with the consent of the County Com-
missioners, for their respective counties, at such compensation
as the said County Commissioners may fix. The Supervisors
of Elections of the City of Baltimore shall, until January 1,
1939 have a chief clerk at a salary of thirty-five hundred dol-
lars ($3, 500), one clerk at a salary of three thousand dollars
($3, 000), one clerk at a salary of twenty-seven hundred and
fifty dollars ($2, 750), two clerks at a salary of twenty-two
hundred dollars ($2, 200), each per annum, two clerks at a sal-
ary of nineteen hundred dollars ($1, 900) each per annum,
two clerks at a salary of eighteen hundred dollars ($1, 800)
each per annum, two clerks at a salary of seventeen hundred
dollars ($1, 700) each per annum, three clerks at a salary of
sixteen hundred dollars ($1, 600) each per annum, one carpen-
ter at a salary of two thousand dollars ($2, 000) per annum. Be-
ginning with January 1, 1939, the Supervisors of Elections of
the City of Baltimore shall have a chief clerk at a salary of thir-
ty-five hundred dollars ($3, 500) per annum, an assistant chief
clerk at a salary of thirty-five hundred dollars ($3, 500) per
annum, two registrars at a salary of three thousand dollars
($3, 000) each per annum, two clerks at a salary of twenty-
five hundred dollars ($2, 500) each per annum, one clerk at a
salary of twenty-two hundred dollars ($2, 200) per annum,
two clerks at a salary of nineteen hundred dollars ($1, 900)
each per annum, three clerks at a salary of eighteen hundred
dollars ($1, 800) each per annum, four clerks at a salary of
seventeen hundred dollars ($1, 700) each per annum, a cus-
