CHAPTER 529.

(House Bill 348)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 13
of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "General Provisions",
authorizing the formation of insurance companies under the
General Corporation Law.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 13 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "General
Provisions", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:

Sec. 13. Formation of Insurance Corporations. Corpora-
tions may be formed under the provisions of Article 23 of the
Code of Public General Laws for insurance purposes, and
may be formed either as mutual or stock companies, as shall
be determined and declared in the certificate of incorporation
of any such company.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1939.

of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "Fire Insurance", au-
thorizing the formation and admission of Lloyds associa-
tions to write insurance in Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 81 of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "Fire
Insurance", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments to read as follows:
