CHAPTER 527.
(House Bill 342)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 65 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement), title "Militia", sub-
title "Veterans' Guardianship", said new section to be
known as Section 56DD, to follow immediately after Section
56D of said Article, and to provide for the appointment of
guardians for non-residents of Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
65 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1935 Supplement),
title "Militia", sub-title "Veterans' Guardianship", said new
section to be known as Section 56DD, to follow immediately
after Section 56D of said Article, and to read as follows:

56DD. Whenever it is required, within the purview of
Section 56B of this Act, that guardians be appointed for bene-
ficiaries who are non-residents of the State of Maryland, juris-
diction is hereby conferred upon the Circuit Courts of the sev-
eral counties and the Circuit Courts of Baltimore City to
effect the appointment of guardians for such non-resident
beneficiaries in the same manner provided by this Act for the
appointment of guardians for resident beneficiaries; provided,
that the courts making such appointments shall have first
caused legal process to be served upon such beneficiaries, giv-
ing the same notice as is required under the laws of this State
with respect to the appointment of guardians for resident
beneficiaries.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1924
Edition), title "Insurance", sub-title "Life, Accident and
Health Insurance", and to add a new section to said Article,
title and sub-title as aforesaid, to follow immediately after
