diate preservation of the public health or safety, and passed
upon a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General As-
sembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 380.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 56 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1929 Supplement), title "Licenses, "
sub-title "Freight Motor Vehicles, " said new section to be
known as Section 266A and to follow immediately after
Section 266 of said Article, to permit farmers and others
having general hauler's license to accommodate their neigh-
bors by hauling certain farm products to markets.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland^ That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 56 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1929 Sup-
plement), title "Licenses, " sub-title "Freight Motor Vehicles, "
said new section to be known as Section 266A, to follow imme-
diately after Section 266 of said Article, and to read as follows:

266A. Nothing in Sections 256 to 266, both inclusive, of
this Article shall be construed to apply to farmers and others
having general hauler's license, hauling certain farm products
to markets for their neighbors, but all such farmers and others
having general hauler's license shall be allowed to haul farm
products, except milk, for their neighbors, when such hauling
constitutes the first movement of said products from farm to
market; provided, however, that no farmer or anyone having a
general hauler's license shall so haul as aforementioned on reg-
ular schedule, except when transporting a seasonable product,

Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect in any
manner any rights or privileges which farmers and others
having a general hauler's license now or may hereafter have
for the transportation of such products.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.
