tion of the proceeds. Provided, however, that in no event
shall the total amount of bonds issued under the provisions of
this section exceed $1, 200, 000, on account of lands to be
acquired within Montgomery County, or the sum of $800, 000
on account of lands to be acquired within Prince George's
County.

9. Immediately upon the sale of any bonds, issued under
the preceding section, the Commission is directed to certify
to the County Commissioners of Montgomery County the
amount of bonds so issued, the rate of interest and maturities,
and so long as any of said bonds shall be outstanding and un-
paid, said County Commissioners are hereby authorized and
directed to levy against all of the property within that portion
of the Maryland-Washington Metropolitan District within
Montgomery County assessed for the purposes of County taxa-
tion an annual tax in a sum sufficient to pay the interest on
said bonds and to pay the principal of the said bonds upon
maturity. The said tax shall be levied and collected, and have
the same priority rights, bear the same interest and penalties
and in every respect be treated as county taxes. The tax so
levied shall be collected by the County Commissioners of Mont-
gomery County, and every sixty (60) days they shall remit the
whole amount of the tax so collected to the Commission.

The Commission is hereby authorized and empowered to
enter into any contact or commitment with the United States
or any bureau or agency thereof or the National Capital Park
and Planning Commission for the purpose of securing any
advance authorized to be allotted to it or to the State of
Maryland under the provisions of paragraph or subsection
(b) of Section 1 of Public Act 284 of the 71st Congress of the
United States in any amount not exceeding $1, 200, 000. 00, on
account of lands to be acquired within Montgomery County,
and is authorized to pledge the repaying of the same. within
the time required by said Act; and in the event said Commis-
sion receives any part of the funds authorized to be advanced
by the said Act, it is hereby directed that before the time of
repayment it shall issue and sell the bonds hereinbefore au-
thorized in an amount sufficient to repay the same.

Said Commission may, with the consent of the County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County, apply for and receive
under said Paragraph or Sub-section (b) of Section 1 of
Public Act 284 such additional sum or sums not to exceed
