services including services rendered under Section 202 of this
Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Section 7 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of the Public General Laws
of Maryland, Edition of 1924, title "Elections, " sub-title
"Supervisors of Elections, " be, and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

7. The Board of Supervisors of Elections of the several
counties may have clerks, with the consent of the County Com-
missioners, for their respective counties, at such compensation
as the said County Commissioners may fix. The Supervisors
of Elections of the City of Baltimore shall have a. chief clerk
at a salary of thirty-five hundred dollars ($3500), one clerk at
a salary of three thousand dollars ($3000), one clerk at a
salary of twenty-seven hundred and fifty dollars ($2, 750), two
clerks at a salary of twenty-two hundred dollars ($2200) each
per annum, two clerks at a salary of nineteen hundred dollars
($1900) each per annum, two clerks at a salary of eighteen
hundred dollars ($1800) each per annum, two clerks at a
salary of seventeen hundred dollars ($1700) each per annum,
three clerks at a salary of sixteen hundred dollars ($1600)
each per annum, one carpenter at a salary of two thousand
dollars per annum. The said clerks, and in the City of Balti-
more, the chief clerk, and clerks and carpenter shall be ap-
pointed by the respective board of supervisors and shall be
removable by them in their discretion. In Baltimore City, the
chief clerk, with the approval of the supervisors, shall from
time to time, secure such temporary assistance as may be
necessary for the proper transaction of the business of the
office, but the compensation of such assistants to be paid by
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, upon requisition by
the said supervisors shall not exceed the sum of three thousand
dollars ($3, 000) in any one year. In Washington County, the
Supervisors of Elections shall appoint a clerk who shall receive
an annual salary of not less than six hundred dollars ($600. 00)
per annum, which salary may be increased by the County Com-
missioners in their discretion. The clerk so appointed shall
hold his office at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors of
Elections, and shall be removable by them in their discretion
at any time. It shall be the duty of the clerk in said county,
with the approval of the Supervisors of Elections, to secure
such temporary assistants as may be necessary for the proper
