the present building necessitated by such remodeling or addi-
tional building; and provided further that in the event the
said Board of County Commissioners shall determine to re-
locate the county building or police station at Silver Spring
on a new site or to purchase additional land for the purpose
of building an addition to the existing building, said Board
is hereby authorized and empowered to allot such proportion
of the funds derived from the sale of said bonds as it may
determine for the purpose of acquiring by purchase or/con-
demnation a new site or additional land upon which to con-
struct a new office buildings to house necessary offices of the
County Commissioners, quarters for the Montgomery County
Police and other necessary county activities, and is further
authorized and empowered to use any portion of the funds so
derived for the purpose of building or constructing such
building.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of
paying the interest on said bonds, and for redeeming the said
bonds as they mature, the said Board of County Commission-
ers of Montgomery County, shall, for the year of issuance there-
of, and annually thereafter, until all of said bonds issued under
the authority of this Act, shall mature and be redeemed levy a
tax upon the assessable property of said county sufficient to pay
the annual interest on said bonds outstanding, and to redeem
said bonds as they mature and become due, said taxes to be
collected as other taxes levied in said county are collected.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this is an emer-
gency law and necessary for the preservation of the public
health and safety, and being passed by a yea and nay vote,
supported by three-fifths (3/5) of all the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect upon the date of its passage.

cil of Laurel to borrow not over ten thousand dollars and
