WHEREAS, the amount levied by the said County Commis-
sioners in the year 1930 for road construction and repair has
been exhausted and it is necessary to provide for the purposes
aforesaid at once; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Wicomico County,
Maryland, be and they are hereby empowered and authorized
to borrow money as they need it, not to exceed in the aggregate
twenty-five thousand dollars ($25, 000), for the payment of the
work and materials already done and used, and for the purpose
of building and repairing the public roads of said county. The
payment of money so borrowed to be secured by the note or
notes of said County Commissioners, such note or notes to be
issued on the order of said Commissioners and to be signed by
the President of said County Commissioners and countersigned
by the Treasurer of Wicomico County and bear interest from
date of same, said notes to be paid out of the levy to be made in
the year 1931.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said County Com-
missioners are hereby empowered and directed to levy upon the
assessable property of said county in the levy to be made in
the year 1931, a sufficient sum of money to pay the note or notes
so issued and the interest thereon, same to be collected as other
taxes are now collected in said county.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That should the road fund
levied for the years 1932 and 1933 be insufficient or is exhausted
before the levies for 1932 and 1933 are made and it should be-
come necessary to maintain and keep in proper condition the
public roads in Wicomico County until the levy is made and
available for said years, the County Commissioners of Wicomico
County are authorized and empowered to borrow, not exceed-
ing twenty-five thousand dollars ($25, 000), when the necessity
may arise to require the expenditure of such sum or sums of
money, not exceeding the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars
($25, 000) in each of said years; providing, however, that the
money so expended shall be levied for and repaid out of the
county levy for each of said years, 1932 and 1933, and repaid
as provided for in Section 1 of this Act. The payment of money
so borrowed to bo secured by the note or notes of said County
Commissioners, such note or notes to be issued on the order of
said Commissioners, and to be signed by the President of said
County Commissioners and countersigned by the Treasurer of
Wicomico County, and bear interest from date of same; said
notes to be paid. out of the respective levies to be made in the
years 1932 and 1933.
