hundred ($2, 100. 00) dollars per annum, one additional assist-
ant clerk at a compensation not to exceed two thousand dollars
($2, 000. 00) per annum, and such other additional clerks or
stenographers at such compensation not to exceed one thousand
five hundred ($1, 500. 00) dollars per annum, as said board
may determine. Any assistant clerk appointed shall be re-
quired to give bond under the same conditions as are above
described for the bond of the clerk, in the penalty of one thou-
sand ($1, 000. 00) dollars.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of
all the members elected to each of the two Houses of the Gen-
eral Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

CHAPTER 306.
AN ACT to extend and continue in force the terms of the Act
of 1896, Chapter 264, entitled "An Act to provide for the
appointment of commissioners for the promotion of uniform-
ity of legislation in the United States, '' as extended and con-
tinued in force by the Act of 1900, Chapter 194; by the Act
of 1908, Chapter" 407; by the Act of 1912, Chapter 593; by
the Act of 1916, Chapter 543; by the Act of 1920, Chapter
287; by the Act of 1924, Chapter 278: and by the Act of 1927,
Chapiter 484, and to authorize the appointment and continu-
ance of commissioners thereunder.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the terms, force and effect of the Act of 1896, Chap-
ter 264, entitled "An Act to provide for the appointment of
commissioners for the promotion of uniformity of legislation in
the United States, " be and the same are hereby extended and
continued, and the Governor is hereby authorized and directed
to appoint three commissioners hereunder as authorized by said
Act, in place of the commissioners heretofore appointed by him
under the Act of 1908, Chapter 407; the Act of 1912, Chapter
593; the Act of 1916, Chapter 543; the A at of 1920, Chapter
287; by the Act of 1924, Chapter 278, and by the Act of 1927,
