534. * The County Commissioners of Baltimore County shall
levy annually a sufficient sum, upon the taxable property in
Baltimore County to pay said policeman, including the
Chief or officers of any other designation or rank on said
force, and for such other and proper expenses as in their judg-
ment may be required to promote the efficiency, discipline and
usefulness of such police force.
537. Any person, club, association or corporation desiring
to hold any public entertainment, picnic or gathering to which
a price of admission is charged or collection taken up for the
purpose of defraying the expense thereof in the first, third,,
ninth, twelfth, thirteenth, fourteenth and' fifteenth election
districts of Baltimore County shall first obtain a permit in
writing from the Chief of police of Baltimore County or the
County Commissioners of Baltimore County to hold such enter-
tainment.
539. The said Chief of police or the County Commission-
ers of Baltimore County shall not issue a permit as defined
by Section 537 of this sub-title to any person, club; association
or corporation unless he or it believe them to be proper persons
to hold said entertainments.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take,
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 245.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section 7
of Article 95 of the Annotated Code of the Public General
Laws of Maryland (Edition of 1924), entitled "Treasurer, ''
authorizing the employment of clerks, assistants and other
help, regulating the duties of such employees, providing for
the designation of deputies, and regulating the powers and
duties of such deputies.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 7 of Article 95 of the Annotated Code of the
Public General Laws of Maryland (Edition of 1924), entitled
'' Treasurer, '' be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments so as to read as follows:
