CHAPTER 219.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1929 Supplement), title "Crimes and
Punishments, " to be under sub-title "Fire—False Alarm, "
said new section to be known as Section 149B and to follow
immediately after Section 149A of said Article, making it
unlawful to give false alarm of fire.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1929 Supple-
ment), title "Crimes and Punishments, " to be under sub-title
"Fire—False Alarm, " said new section to be known as Section
149B, to follow immediately after Section 149A of said Arti-
cle, and to read as follows:

149B. It shall be unlawful for any person knowingly to
give or cause to be given any false alarm of fire by means of
the telegraph box connected with any fire alarm telegraph or
by means of telephone or telegraph system, or by any other
means or method. Any person violating the provisions of this
section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction
thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not less than five dollars,
nor more than five hundred dollars, or to imprisonment not
exceeding twelve months, or to both fine and imprisonment.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 220.

A]ST ACT to add one new section to Article 16 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1924 Edition), title "Chancery, "
sub-title "Divorce, " said new section to follow immediately
after Section 39 of said Article and to be known as Section
3 9A, to make all agreements and/or settlements valid be-
tween husband and wife respecting support, maintenance,
personal or property rights and all settlements between hus-
band and wife in lieu of support or maintenance; and to
