the treasurer, as well as for other officers or employees of said
town. All appointees of the Board of Commissioners shall
hold their offices or positions at the pleasure of said Commis-
sioners. The Commissioners may appoint the same person to
perform the duties of more than one office.
SEC. 12. And be it further enacted, That before any
elective or appointive officer of the said town of Fairmount
Heights shall enter upon his of her duties he or she shall make
oath before some officer authorized to administer oaths in said
Prince George's County that he or she will diligently and
faithfully discharge the duties of his or her office and he or
she shall file a certificate of such oath with the clerk or chair-
man of said Commissioners, which shall become part of the
record of said town.
SEC. 13. And be it further enacted, That the treasurer
shall give bond to the Commissioners in such surety or sure-
ties as said Commissioners may require, conditioned for the
faithful performance of the duties of his or her office.
SEC. 14. And be it further enacted, That the Commis-
sioners shall have full power to pass such ordinances as they
may deem necessary for the good government, health and im-
provement of the town and for the preservation of peace and
good order therein. They shall have full power to impose such
fines, penalties and punishment for the breach of their ordi-
nances as they may think proper; to promote sanitation and to
protect the lives and property of the citizens; grant licenses
for the operating or conducting of any and all places of public
amusement and entertainment, or for the operating or con-
ducting of any other business or industry which the Board of
Commissioners may decide to license, but nothing herein shall
be construed as giving the Commissioners the power to refuse
or revoke a license; and fix the fees to be paid on the granting
of any such license; and for any ordinance passed by the Com-
missioners may provide for its enforcement by a prosecution
before any justice of the peace of Prince George's County.
They may recover said fines or penalties by an action of debt
and in addition thereto they may provide for the commitment of
the offender for a period of not more than thirty days to such
places of confinement as they may provide. A majority of said
Commissioners shall constitute a quorum and the act of such
majority shall be the act of the whole Board of Commissioners.
