refunds as provided herein must be filed with the Comptroller
within ninety (90) days from the date of purchase or invoice.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1931.

CHAPTER 180.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Chapter
575 of the Acts of 1910, an Act providing for the appoint-
ment of a court stenographer for the Circuit Court for
Charles County, as amended by Chapter 70 of the Acts of
1912.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Chapter 575 of the Acts of 1910, an Act au-
thorizing, empowering and directing the judges of the Circuit
Court for Charles County to appoint a court stenographer, as
amended by Chapter 70 of the Acts of 1912, be and the same
is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

1.    That the judges of the Circuit. Court for Charles County
be and they are hereby authorized and directed to appoint an
official court reporter for said court, who shall be an expert
stenographer, shall be a sworn officer of said court, shall hold
office during the pleasure of the judges of said court, and shall
be paid a per diem not to exceed fifteen dollars for each and
every day of actual service, payable by the county treasurer
of said county as a part of the court expenses, upon presenta-
tion of the certificate of the clerk or any of the judges of said
court showing the attendance and service of said reporter.

2.    That said reporter shall attend and take full stenographic
notes of all oral testimony and judicial opinions in all proceed-
ings in said court at such times and in such cases as the court
may direct; and said reporter shall make and furnish to any
party, upon request, a typewritten transcript of any part of
said notes, on payment by such party of the expense of such
transcript at the rate of twenty cents for every hundred words.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from June 1, 1931.
